We've heard about Lake Garda but never visited before and started at the southern end near to Verona. Whilst pretty, it was quote a stuffy area and because we arrived late in the evening the only place we could find to stay was reminiscent of Hi de Hi! With announcements over the tannoy at regular intervals it was soon time to leave and we headed north towards Riva and neighbouring Torbole.
The road which hugged the cliffs along the western side of Lake Garda was amazing.

If you have hired one of our campers to travel round the Italian lakes I cannot recommend this place more highly and make sure you get in touch for some great ideas of places to visit.
There are several campsites right on the lakefront with loads of hire facilities for windsurfing, sailing and mountain biking. You can even ski here in the winter. Our camper found its way to Camping Arco Lido which even has racks to store your windsurfing kit!!

The mountain biking in the area ranges from the easy, a short ride along the valley to Arco, to the extreme, taking the cable car up into the mountains. For a few Euros a trail map is a must with different routes marked in different colours. be warned, medium means hard especially when your pedal comes off!!

After a few days it was time to go, but we will be back in another campervan to Lake Garda. A bike rack is included free of charge when you hire any of our campervans whether going to Europe or in the UK.
